Goals – Part II

Since my last post about goals, I’ve gotten some good feedback from you guys, I’ve done some reading and I’ve given more thought to my 2012 goals. Here are my ideas:

  • Taking a page from my friend M’s facebook post about trying at least one new recipe per week, I think I’ll do the same.
  • I really like Jill’s comment about trying to make cheese in 2012. I am not sure if I’m ready for that, but I *am* intrigued. Need a taste tester, Jill? I think I’ll figure out something to try making this year. Any ideas?
  • I want to have a good garden this year. Last year was a bit of a disaster. We planted tons of stuff but almost everything got eaten by deer, rabbits and chipmunks. We did get a few cucumbers and jalapenos. It was really depressing. We are going to try again this year and employ some new tactics.
  • I need to focus on finding a new job. It is a really, really long story, which some of you have suffered through. I think I need a separate post about this. Yes, I am grateful that I am employed.

We’ve got lots of stuff happening this year. Apart from the pregnancy thing, we’ve got a little kitchen renovation that will start soon, and some other projects that will keep us busy. I don’t know exactly what they are, but I know there are some projects. There are always some projects.

Hey, wait! I can eat soft cheese if it is made with pasturized milk.

      From americanpregnancy.org:

The CDC has recommended that pregnant women avoid soft cheeses such as feta, Brie, Camembert, blue-veined cheeses and Mexican style cheeses such as queso fresco, queso blanco and panela that do not state they are pasteurized.

Oh, that’s new since I was pregnant. Yay for soft cheese!
